Beta Build 1.60.1 MechanicsWhile the foundational 1-300 skill climb will feel familiar to Classic veterans, World of Warcraft: Forever integrates fishing deeply into open-world systems. Here is everything newly introduced:
Campsite Crafting Blueprints
Anglers can now craft exclusive objects to place at welcoming campfires: Tier 1 Fish Bowl (Skill 20), Tier 2 Fishing Rack (Skill 140, drops from Gelihast in BFD), and the Tier 3 Fishing Hut (Skill 300 Blueprint).
50-Winner Stranglethorn Extravaganza
The Sunday Booty Bay fishing contest no longer crowns only one solo victor per realm. The first 50 anglers to turn in their 40 Speckled Tastyfish win the Arcanite Fishing Pole and Extravagant Extravaganza Coins.
Extravaganza Coin Exchange Rewards
Coins can be traded in Booty Bay for coveted relics including the Hook of the Master Angler, Surfer Shoes (water-walking boots), Master Angler's Fishing Hat, Empty Fish Bucket, and the Bitter Baitling pet/lure.
Cooking Synergy & 5% XP Food Buffs
Most cooked fish dishes in WoW Forever now grant an additional 5% experience bonus from monster kills, turning early-game fish like Longjaw Mud Snapper and Catfish into top leveling staples.
New Zones & Memorial Trainers
Fresh fishing waters unlocked across Zephras Isle and Riverglades, plus dedicated trainers including Hunter Moore in Hillsbrad Foothills, Fenn Fairweather and Baelann Swiftcurrent on Zephras Isle, and Krix at Powderfuse Port.
Controller Support & Lure QoL
Full native gamepad and controller casting support added, with lures granting up to +100 skill for easier deep-water access without getting 'fish got away' fails.

~1,240 Total CatchesCore Mechanic to Remember: Fishing skill-ups depend strictly on successful catch counts, not on how difficult the zone is. You can literally level 1 to 150 inside the Stormwind or Orgrimmar capital city pools! However, following our zone recommendations allows you to catch high-demand cooking fish, Oily Blackmouths, and Stonescale Eels for massive gold profits.
Catches per Skill-Up Rule of Thumb: ~(Current Skill / 25) - 2 (Minimum 1 catch at low skill, up to 9-10 catches per point past 250).

Required at Skill 225 & Level 35To raise your fishing cap from 225 to 300, visit Nat Pagle stationed on a small island southwest of Theramore in Dustwallow Marsh (/way 58.6 60.0). He will charge you with reeling in 4 specific quest fish from open waters across the world.
