Camping Guide
"From a humble roadside spark to grand ten-man expedition encampments: how shared fires, resting, and trade skills redefine travel across Azeroth."
How Camping Works in WoW Forever
Beta Build 1.60.1Direct Answer Summary:
Camping in World of Warcraft: Forever transforms simple cooking fires into shared community campsites. Any player who crafts a Campfire Kit (Cooking Skill 1+) can place a campfire. Nearby players can each contribute one profession-crafted camp item. Sitting (/sit) or crafting next to the campfire for 1 minute grants the composite Camp Benefits buff for 1 hour, which packs all contributed stat bonuses into a single convenient aura.
Sitting (/sit) or crafting by the campfire for 60 seconds grants the 'Camp Benefits' composite buff for 1 hour. Placing any camp item triggers a 1-hour shared cooldown across all of your camp items.
Each player can contribute exactly 1 camp feature to an active campfire. Campfires support 3, 5, or 10 items depending on the size of the fire.
Profession camp buffs provide slightly weaker variants of standard class buffs and are strictly mutually exclusive (they do NOT stack with their corresponding class buffs).
Higher-tier items (Skill 140 & 300) inherit the base stat buff of Tier 1 while adding functional crafting stations (e.g., Anvil, Forge, Lab, Loom) or world utilities.

Campfire Kits, Sizes & Blueprints
Cooking ProgressionCampfire sizes determine how many players can contribute their profession items to a single gathering. You no longer need to carry Flint and Tinder; instead, craft stacked Campfire Kits directly from your bags.
| Campfire Kit | Cooking Req | Slots | Crafting Material | Acquisition / Drop |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic Campfire Kit | Learn 1 / Use 1 | 3 Objects | 1x Simple Wood | Vendor / Base Trainer |
| Journeyman Campfire Kit | Learn 90 / Use 140 | 5 Objects | 1x Star Wood | Boss Drop: Lord Serpentis (Wailing Caverns) |
| Expert Campfire Kit | Learn 200 / Use 220 | 10 Objects | 1x Thick Logs | Dungeon / World Drop (TBD) |
Every Profession Camp Item & Buff
Each profession offers three tiers of campsite items (unlocked at skill levels 20, 140, and 300). Crucially, higher tier items retain the stat buff of Tier 1, meaning upgrading to a portable station never sacrifices your team's combat utility.

Frequently Asked Questions
System ClarificationsDo camp buffs stack with regular class buffs?
No. All campsite buffs are variants of existing class buffs (such as Power Word: Fortitude, Blessing of Kings, Arcane Intellect, and Strength of Earth) and are mutually exclusive with them. If a player already has the stronger class buff, the campfire buff will not override or stack with it.
How long must players sit to gain the buffs?
Players must sit (/sit) or craft within the campfire radius for at least 60 seconds (1 minute). An active countdown buff appears, after which the composite 1-hour 'Camp Benefits' aura is applied.
Can one player place multiple camp items?
No. Each player can place only 1 camp item per campfire. Additionally, placing an item triggers a 1-hour shared cooldown across all camp craft items in that player's inventory.
How do higher-tier campfires work?
Basic Campfires accommodate 3 items. Cooks who obtain the Blueprint for the Journeyman Campfire (dropped by Lord Serpentis in Wailing Caverns) can build a fire supporting 5 items, while Expert Campfires support up to 10 items.
Every mechanic, item level, and recipe blueprint in this Camping dossier is compiled directly from official Blizzard Forever dispatches and verified beta data.
