The Forever Open Closes Registration Early

4,000 Duelists Cap $100k Championship Ahead of Schedule

our thousand duelists have signed up to clash in the Durotar dirt, and registration is slamming shut two days early.

Tournament organizers Tips Out, Esfand, and Xaryu announced Thursday that entry for The Forever Open—the $100,000 Level 30 Horde championship sponsored alongside streamer TimTheTatman—will officially close on Friday, October 2, at 10:00 A.M. PT on Raider.io ↗.

The cutoff moves up from the original October 4 deadline to prevent volunteer staff from being overwhelmed by qualifier logistics:
"We’ve reached 4,000 registrations for The Forever Open! On behalf of our team, thank you. The turnout has exceeded all our expectations.
> The downside: we’re now at the limit of how many players our staff can manage during qualifiers. To give the team enough time to prepare and to keep qualifiers somewhat manageable without losing our last bit of hair, registration will close tomorrow, October 2, at 10:00 A.M. PT.
> If you want to compete with a different race or class that you haven’t registered yet, please register that character today."

Timelines & Bracket Stakes

Combatants have until tomorrow morning to register or switch characters, followed by two weeks to hit the Level 30 cap under the mandatory surname "Foreverpvp":

Blizzard Grants 16 Legacy Points to All Beta Testers

In a massive development that directly impacts tournament preparation, Blizzard announced it will grant all beta testers 16 free Legacy Points in an upcoming build.

Over the first two weeks of testing, prospective duelists were frantically grinding alternate characters, dungeon runs, and map nodes to stockpile points on our Legacy Calculator. In an official blue dispatch on the forums, Blizzard explained:
"Over the first two weeks of the WoW Forever Beta, we’ve seen an increasing number of testers pushing to earn points in the Legacy system.
> In a future week of the Beta, we’re planning to grant all testers 16 Legacy points so that the system can be tested without first requiring a great deal of leveling different classes, clearing dungeons, etc. Once applied, we expect to keep that grant in place until the end of the Beta."
This free allocation aligns directly with the committee's recent Forever Open Rules Overhaul, which pledged to minimize unfair Legacy advantages. With 16 points handed to every account, participants can halt the exhausting grind and focus entirely on leveling, gearing, and refining their 1v1 mechanics before October 17.
