Holy Favoritism, Primordial Relics, and Torch-Bearing Felines

Alliance Paladin Grievances Erupt Alongside Druid Shape-Shift QoL

resh beta builds have a habit of swinging wildly between faction controversy and class flavor, and the latest World of Warcraft: Forever testing cycle delivered both. Over the weekend, testers uncovered a Paladin-exclusive cloak currently locked behind Alliance territory, an elemental-summoning cloth dungeon set in Dalaran, and a beloved visual fix that finally lets shapeshifted Druids clamp blazing torches between their teeth.

Here is the quick-hit digest of what changed across Azeroth.

1. Alliance Exclusivity: The Cloak of the Divine Storm

The sprawling quest chain originally crafted for Season of Discovery's Divine Storm rune has returned to WoW: Forever as an item quest for the Cloak of the Divine Storm [Wowhead ↗] (+5 Strength, +5 Stamina, +8 Holy spell damage/healing).

The controversy is purely geographic: because critical turn-ins require speaking with Katherine the Pure and Ursula Deline inside Stormwind City, Horde Paladins are barred from completing the chain. With Paladin balance already under heavy scrutiny following our Warcraft Forever Systems Audit, Horde crusaders are demanding equal access or a parallel questline.

2. Primordial Relics: Violet Sorcerer's Vestments

Deep in the City of Dalaran dungeon (level 28–33), spellcasters have discovered the five-piece Violet Sorcerer's Vestments. Beyond passive Arcane Resistance and mana regeneration bonuses, the 5-piece bonus awards a combat proc that summons an autonomous Arcane Elemental minion for approximately 20 seconds.

Crucially, the set is not locked to Mages. Warlocks and Shadow Priests can wear the vestments and summon the crystalline minion, granting petless shadow casters a rare and formidable combat companion.

3. Torch-Bearing Felines: Druid Shapeshifting Polish

When testers first discovered the Night Watchman's Torch [Wowhead ↗]—an off-hand item granting volumetric lighting, as covered in our Duskwood torch dispatch—shifting into Cat or Bear Form caused the torch to disappear or clip through models.

In the latest build, Blizzard delivered the community's requested fix: shapeshifted Druids now clamp the burning torch directly in their jaws. The flaming timber projects dynamic shadows outward as you prowl or charge, giving Feral adventurers the atmospheric flavor they asked for.
